Why should I become a WorldOregon member?

By choosing to be a member of WorldOregon, you are supporting greater understanding of global issues. Membership means that you are making your voice heard, not only at our public forums and discussions, but in your commitment to remaining informed, curious, engaged, and charitable. Membership gifts help fulfill our mission to empower youth with the same awareness to ensure a more peaceful world future for us all.

 

What are the benefits of joining at different membership levels?

WorldOregon provides several levels of membership to meet your philanthropic and engagement interests. Please review the Benefits chart for a complete list of opportunities.

 

Do my spouse/partner and I have to buy two separate memberships?

No. With the exception of our Individual Membership level, all other WorldOregon membership levels include your family. Please review the Benefits chart to determine which level best meets your needs and your interests in supporting WorldOregon.

 

Does membership cover the costs associated with fulfilling WorldOregon’s mission?

No. While members are critical to our success, these contributions cover less than 10% of our operating costs. We rely on generous contributions from our members and other individuals, as well as program fees, foundation grants, and corporate sponsors to ensure access to our high-quality programs.

Members are always welcome to make additional gifts when registering for a program, or at any time throughout the year. We look forward to thanking you for your generosity!

 

Is my membership tax deductible?

WorldOregon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 93-0568356), and memberships are a critical source of financial support for our organization. As a result, membership gifts are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Due to benefits offered at higher levels of membership, donors will receive helpful information for tax purposes.

 

What will my expiration date be and how will I be notified?

Your WorldOregon membership is good for 12 months from the date you join or your current membership expires. Near the end of that period, you will receive an email reminder from us, and a link to easily renew your membership. 

 

Will my membership automatically renew?

Members who pay monthly with a credit card have the advantage of automatic renewal. You will not receive a request from WorldOregon to renew your membership until we need new information from you, such as when your credit card expires. You are, of course, welcome to increase your monthly membership at any time by going HERE.

Members who make a one-time annual payment will receive a reminder from us each year with a link to renew.

 

Why should I consider increasing my membership commitment?

As you get to know the mission and programs of WorldOregon, we hope you will consider increasing your membership engagement with us. We have added several unique opportunities to our member Benefits as a way to both thank you for your generosity and introduce you to the distinctive work we do in global education and with international visitors. These are programs that only work with your support.

 

Can I pay by check?

Yes! Please make your check payable to WorldOregon, put “Membership” in the memo section, and mail your check to: WorldOregon, 1207 SW Broadway, Suite 300, Portland, OR 97205

 

How do I update my credit card?
